GOP Fighting For Money From Stimulus They Opposed…

February 18, 2009 at 12:09 PM Huffington Post

House Republicans, as a group, may take great pride in the goose egg they offered President Obama’s stimulus package. But now the unanimous opposition is struggling to bring that money home.

Republicans will be working hard to make sure the money they opposed ends up benefiting their home districts, highlighting the political tightrope they walk in this economic crisis. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is watching House Republicans — and reading local media —

Unfortunately for many people, what they are gonna see is the Rebuplican party pooh poohing the Recovery Bill and not offer any other options other than their anti government rants. They will sit back and say “Its not gonna work, its not gonna work, gimmie some that stimulus money! its not gonna work! gimmie, gimmie, gimmie! They are in a perfect position… do nothing and wait and see what happens.

This strategy is much like the lame comment of “Terrorists have not attacked us in the U.S. since 911! See what a good job we are doing!” That is an easy comment (and easy bet) to make  if you understand that terrorist did not have the capability to conduct any further attacks. They shot their wad is essence. Again an easy to win situation.

What do you think?
